From birth through high school, Michael Bennett was arguably the least-athletic person on the face of the earth. Then one winter in college, he discovered a Nordic Trak at the gym – largely because there was never a line for it. After a while, the Nordic Trak was replaced by an Elliptical, and finally a treadmill as his preferred equipment for cardiovascular exercise. Then he moved to Chicago – the most runner-friendly city on earth – and running on pavement came naturally. The rest is history.
Since moving to Chicago in 2006, Michael’s t-shirt collection has grown exponentially from so many 5Ks, 10Ks and other various fun runs. His favorites include the Hustle Up the Hancock, the Ravenswood Run 5K, the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, the Run for the Zoo 10K, the Elvis is Alive 5K and the Race to Wrigley 5K.
Michael resides in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, where – when not working, running, or trying to find a parking space at the North Ave. Whole Foods – he enjoys cooking and gardening on his balcony, reading, and obscure music from Europe and/or the 1980’s.
